Academic Update

  • IB: Our IB unit, Me, Myself, and I, is coming to a close. This week we talked about our five senses. We created another book that will come home next week displaying our learning. Without our five senses, it would be difficult to learn! Next week: personal safety and culmination project.
  • ELA: This week we used the letters that we have learned thus far and began to blend them into words. We also talked about rhyming and the -am family. We continued to learn more sight words, wrote in our journals, and really enjoyed learning our poem, "Me." Next week: more blending, the -at family, and last names
  • Math: Calendar skills have so much math integrated into the routines. We skip count by five's, practice place value, patterning, and counting. This week we also worked on counting down from 10 to zero, collecting data and analyzing it, and patterns. Next week: number sequence, matching numbers to sets, and our body weight and height.
  • In the clear folders, you should find the information and instruction sheet for the at-home IB project for this unit. Please review and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
